Last night I used my most loved GF product, Chebe, to make a yummy dinner of “Meat Pockets”. I made a filling of ground turkey, onion, cabbage and potato, and then made calzone type pockets using the Chebe bread mix. I managed to squeeze six pockets out of one mix, and we each had two for dinner. Two yummy pockets are upstairs in my fridge calling my name…
I pre-cooked the filling and let it cool for a couple of hours. I cooked the filled pockets for about 20 minutes in a 375 oven.
We use Chebe mix for rolls, pizza, calzones, fruit turnovers, hamburger and hot dog buns, and now these meat pockets. I am also toying with the idea of using it as a crust for a pot pie.
My favorite mix is the plain “All Purpose” mix that comes in the yellow package. I also like the “Bread” mix in the red package (it’s the one you add cheese to, how could it be bad), the “Focaccia Flatbread” mix, and the “Cinnamon Rolls” mix. I don’t like the mix of herbs in the “Bread Sticks” mix, I find it too overpowering, and I have yet to try the “Pizza” mix.
